I don't recall ever being considered a s**t fan for wanting a decent beer. Nor is there anything snobby about liking a decent beer, and disliking awful ones. As for going to the pub, the options these days are limited. You have to leave by 2pm - that's no fun.

'Everyone thought...'? Speak for yourself. The fans fought for - and got - real ale. When the club announced that there was going to be real ale, I never thought it was going to be John Smiths.
