The British Empire was built and maintained by colonials trading in slave labour and ripping other territories off.
Now that they can’t do that abroad anymore (not publicly anyway), they’re turning on their own. Us.
They’ve had 14 years to sort this out. Why this year is it all of a sudden so urgent, I wonder?
Unless of course this wasn’t a problem 14 years ago. Hmmmm.
This is my biggest issue with the whole mad as f*** scheme.
If they stay in power I would not be surprised to see them reanimate the long dormant idea to move benefit claimants to areas with more job opportunities, or lose all their income.
Perhaps Rwanda?
I do think people do need to learn or in some cases, re-learn resilience.
I think there is a significant part of the population who were furloughed on 80% wages, topped up to 100% by the government grants got to keep their jobs, stay at home and play with their dogs and kids, get cost of living...
I had to go on JSA for a short while a few years ago. They literally never stopped threatening me the entire 4 months.
Threatening to send me to unpaid work placements.
Make me spend 8 hours a day in their job centre looking for work.

Would be nice to tackle all forms of fraud but

Massive rise in middle aged women taking up smoking.

Having to balance a household budget is a fricking nightmare in 2024.
Unless you’re Sunak and you can just ask your keeper/wife for another couple of thousand for lunch out.
It’s like the Tory’s are pointing at us and saying
“Look at the f***ing state of you all. Can’t afford to feed yourselves, too ill to work, earning shit money, having to rely on our NHS. You’re disgusting”
Dig a ditch…
When we stop working and stop paying tax the government are no longer bothered if we live or die. Well, they’d rather we die.
Absolutely no way I’m retiring in this f***ing country.
