It breaks no real new ground, wears its influences obviously at times and is a bit too knowing for its own good but, but, but despite all this I cannot help but like the new Half Moon Run long player. It really is a very well made, if undemanding, record indeed.
Well the quality control fell off a cliff after Republic that's for sure. Peter Hook plays C2 next month, I'm not normally one for whole album re-runs but an opening short JD set followed by Brotherhood, Low Life & encore has me quietly excited...

Anyone seriously comparing this to Technique works for Mute.
It may grow on me but I doubt it.
I confess I find it v difficult to be objective about our John but am predictably rather liking the new PIL long player.
Oh & it's a tad sweary - which is nice.

Rather liking the new Villagers long player. Very understated (largely) acoustic mood piece; nothing revolutionary but very well done. Reminds me a bit of Noah & the Whale's 'First Days of Spring' for impact. Lovely.
