I wouldnt mind seeing McBurnie in Brighton as I like him as a character, he is very open and funny and someone who seems to make his teammates happy etc. And he got interesting attributes with his physicality and (prior to Sheffield) decent goal record. At the same time, he had some pretty dire...
I think Brewster is better than he has been "allowed" to be in Sheffield, their "style" of play fits him badly and I dont know about Wilders ability with young players, he seems to be able to get the best out of the experienced warrior kind of player but most of their young signings like...
I wonder if this possible move would free up a Sheffield striker?
Optimally LEGS (also known as McBurnie) but also the McGoldrick guy looks pretty useful despite his horrible goal scoring record.
If Messi played five seasons in a top division and only scored 10 goals or more once, he wouldnt be a "10 plus a season striker", no. Correct. If the reason was that he was playing as GK, was injured, dead or doing too much heroin wouldnt matter, he would still not be a 10 goals a season striker...
You say he is a "proper 10+ goal scorer", I say he scored 10 or more in one of his five PL seasons.
2015/16: 13 games / 5 goals
2016/17: 20 / 6
2017/18: 28 / 8
2018/19: 30 / 14
2019/20: 35 / 7
To you, this may be 12-13 on average, to me it isnt.
Yes. A very small one. Even smaller when you consider that it will be difficult to beat Chelsea & Man United with or without a new striker.
Ending the transfer window with only two strikers would be a risk.
Just cant see that happening. He already showed he is too good for the Championship and I think its unlikely he will go there to play for £10k a week again instead of - if possible - getting a £40k or so contract in the PL.
It happens sometimes in other countries and is a fairly new concept in England, but its becoming more and more common. Some Chelsea ex-players have buy-back clauses, City got it with Douglas Luiz etc.
Its quite common in Spain and the fee is usually x2 or x3 of the original transfer. Sometimes...
Lallana joining Brighton. Klupp speaking well of Potter. Brewster playing for Swansea, with Rodon & Roberts who Potter turned into Welsh national team players. The success of Lamptey, Connolly, Alzate... I think there is a lot of things that would make Brighton a pretty likely choice for him.
If this whole "£20m with a buy-back clause" thing is true, Brewster suddenly becomes a lot more interesting than a loan. Would be a great signing and I he would likely choose Brighton over some of the other clubs that might be interested.
