As I recall, though it may have changed since I worked in the UK, the appeal process in employment law cases is firstly to an IT. If the appellant loses at IT he/she can then appeal to an Employment Appeal Tribunal, but only on a point of law. Thereafter the case can go to the Court of Appeal...
Although I suspect the Tribunal would also find that Poyet had contributed towards his own dismissal and would adjust the size of any award accordingly.
That's basically an advert to potential new employers. Poyet is in a real double bind now. If he goes to an IT that'll put potential suitors off. If he doesn't who is gonna employ someone whose been sacked for Gross Misconduct? He'll be ok in the long run but may have to have a spell...
