Stephen Ward - Albion unwilling to match salary

 I bet Ashley Barnes earned a lot less than Ward in the Championship, at both Albion & Burnley. I'd imagine he's had something of a bonus now he's helped them into the Premier League, probably including a pay rise.

Stephen Ward - Albion unwilling to match salary

I guess the only thought is that if we offered him a *3 year deal at a lower wage, then he is guaranteed more in the long term. *Did I suggest the Albion offer a player a deal longer than 12 months, what on earth am I saying? :dunce: Your write, heel go to Forrest, were loose.

Stephen Ward - Albion unwilling to match salary

I imagine it would make him close to our most highly paid player, the club would have to be very confident that he's the right man for the job.

Which basically means, and there is no other way to look at it, that if a club is prepared to pay him it, then he is worth it. If no-one pays him £13K a week, then he isn't worth it.
