[Other Sport] Chris Froome cleared over Vuelta drugs test - case dropped

and as if by magic The Cycling Podcast chaps underline my point. I'm just listening now and after Jonathan Vaughters does a fantastic job of explaining Chris Froome's situation, Lionel Beirnie goes on to list what happened in Le Tour 10 years ago:- Tom Boonan - 'rested' after positive cocaine...

As when pointed out to him when he initially posted it. It would seem there's one rule of us and one rule for the owner.

Yesterday he was banned by the Tour organisers (ASO) as they didn't want him besmirching the good name of Le Tour competing with a WADA case hanging over him, as they are fully justified in doing as per the by-laws of their event. Today they are rather embarrassed by their poor timing.

As said the whole Therapeutic Use Exemption grey area needs an overhaul. The cheaters will always be one step ahead of the testers. l have never felt that was the case here and clearly when presented with all the evidence neither did WADA.

A geek will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the sample in question was taken moments after a stage where CF had suffered as badly as he'd ever suffered on a bike, at the arse end of a Grand Tour. If that doesn't fook your system up I can't think what will. Oh and Trig I'm probably not as...

Because it's not a performance enhancing drug, there is a limit because there has to be a limit. Personally I hope this case is used to clear up the very grey area of TUEs, but as said if this is the worst cycling has got (sadly it isn't but you know what I mean) then the sport is in...

As was always the case. The only difference now is that it's the law, any professional sportsman convicted of doping in France can expect long jail time. No sport is clean but because of it's filthy past I feel cycling is cleaner than most, having been forced to face down the demons from...

But since then 'doping' in French professional sport has been punishable by long prison sentences, a fact that contributed to French cycling being so far behind the riders of Laney-poohs era.

No... ...nobody... ...oh well. I guess being a cyclist means it's only a matter of time before he is properly caught cheating. In the meantime let's all enjoy the Russian football team and their superhuman efforts. Chris Froome: Anti-doping case against four-time Tour de France...

Listening between the lines, the chaps reckon there's no getting out of it and CF should have started a self imposed ban already as that would then be taken off the 6 months he's likely to get.

Contador and Pantani lost Grand Tours, Valverde had results voided. Most Tours throughout Lance's career don't recognise many of the top 10 probably even 20.

For my non existent book my bar raids would have to be a little more civilised  I'm certainly keen to ride up a mountain with a cork in my mouth, attached to the car in front by fishing line held by a soigneur hiding in the boot.

Maybe so, I guess the list of infamous maybe sticks in the mind more. Although plenty have had records expunged and I think cycling is getting progressively better about removing former cheats from the sport.

If everyone has one book in them, I always wanted mine to be entitled 'Cheating My Way Round Le Tour'. I set off on a adventure riding a full Tour route but only using all the documented methods of cheating. Some are brilliant, some will just require buying a train ticket, many are illegal. But...

Not much fun when cycling did that. Lance's team rode for 3 weeks on the front, not even looking out of breath. While those wishing to properly challenge him took so much of everything most are 'damaged' now, the ones that are still alive.
