Every team can look back at games x y and z that cost them promotion/safety, that's the nature of this division, this season.
We have had periods of time, this season, where we just haven't played any kind of attacking football.
It didn't matter when in the week it was, what matters is Gus...
Just imagine where we would be, had we played for the whole season.
It's not my intention to sound like an arse (belive it or not).
I've loved this season, I know had we Man Utd, Barca, Muniched our way to the title, it wouldn't have been half the fun, but we would be promoted, with the best...
I guess I could and should have listed all our attacking players, as the defensive unit was fantastic and then got better, with Upson.
The point by putting those in, was IMO they are the ones who have changed our season with their performances, and Barnes who should have done, had he played.
This is an internet messageboard.
I'm not going to let piffling things like facts and the truth, get in the way of making a bloody good point, about our season as a whole.
Obviously without the enjoyment of threads like this, and all the other recent bounced stuff (for which I've been surprisingly spared humiliation (but it's only a matter of time)) The Albion would be nowhere as brilliant, fun, frustrating & woeful, to watch.
I'm not complaining but back to my...
Worse than frustrating.
The facts say:-
October - no wins.
November - 3 wins but against relegation teams.
December - No wins, inc Palace.
My memory of that time, is a team who's early season promise was crumbling at Watford, just clung onto at Millwall, before it disappeared completely.
Yes...
Extending the point further, with a little end of season reflection.
You've got to feel sorry for CMS, Barnes, Hoskins, and Dobbie.
Other than the introduction of Upson, this is pretty much the same team that was frustratingly woeful through Oct-Dec.
Obviously the chicken and egg argument is...
Clearly I get all of that, I too have enjoyed a few little digs, like the rest of us.
You have to be very 'special' to write off that pedigree after a few games.
My point is history is now beginning to be completely rewritten.
Recently i mentioned Dave's slow start and was set upon by 2...
I'm sure there is.
My point is a reaction to an awful lot of posters on this thread who see it as an opportunity to stick the boot into the OP.
Without actually knowing/remembering Dave wasn't always the legend he currently is.
The FACT some convienently forget and assume Dave has been pooh hot since day one.
Dave's first assessable stat (goal/assist) didn't come till the Brum game, mid Jan.
You'd have to feel for Casper, lying prostrate on the ground, unable to get any medical attention, while half the team are trying to rip his shirt off.
I find it hard to believe Spanish Dave has time to be second in command of a Russian nuclear submarine, in 1983.
There seems to be no end to Dave's talents.

I believe WW is stating the principle that:-
'just because it's your debut, it doesn't mean you are guaranteed to be good'.
Or:-
'You can't judge a book by it's cover'.
Unless of course you are WW, when it's judging time.
Then you can judge away, and reserve the right to get titsy when...
