    Contact Tracing App

I had one last week - and agree unless the alert is actually there in the app then it is indication you were near someone who has, but probably either not close enough or in the same venue at the same time. Go about your normal business unless you get further instruction

They would have been paid for what they did for sure.

That went well then and Cummings mates very likely early a decent wedge from it. Lovely stuff

You have to admire the Spanish and Italians. Pretty much back to normal, bars and restaurants open and gearing up for a late summer. We are still fart arsing around with apps and unclear policy on pretty much everything. Good prep for Brexit [emoji849]

Seems odd to invite the same people behind the Vote Leave App into SAGE meetings - as well as the co-founder of Google Deepmind. Cummings is obsessed with big data / data analytics and AI/ML and using this to influence people - so you can see why people think history is repeating itself.

    Contact Tracing App

It uses BLE - the kind of thing that shops use to track people round shops etc. So you need to be within a few meters of something else with BLE and be close for a period of time. Walking past someone on the pavement is unlikely to record anything. Also on current Android & Apple versions the...

Will police & ambulance workers be using this app on their devices when working?

Why do you keep making this political? I've already said given the Vote Leave / Cambridge Analytica antics, Dominic Cummings involvement & the fact they've confirmed there will be no opt-out or request to delete data in the future as well as the flawed 'Centralised model.' It is a no for me.

    Contact Tracing App

I've never said anything about standing up against a potential infringement of my privacy. I'm saying the way this App has been built is flawed and the potential impact in the future from using this concerns me.

Like I say - I can't control that. But I can control installing an app on my phone that tracks my movements and reports back to a source- where that data could then by de-anonymised. Harvard reserachers have already cracked this in 2015 on the South Korea. To be clear - I don't trust a Tory...

Gould said that data may be legally retained “for research in the public interest”. He confirmed that data subjects would not be able to request that their data is deleted once it is uploaded to the central server, as once it is “enmeshed” with other data it would be a difficult to isolate and...

You're correct. And I'm fine with that. I'm not fine with a 3rd party piece of software on my mobile device that could link myself to that data and could be used for 'research' in the future.

    Contact Tracing App

The fact they've already said the data will be used after coronavirus for 'research' and there is no opt-out or request for data to be deleted after is enough for me.

    Contact Tracing App

I won't be using this. The NHS and trusts have poor previous form for dealing with 3rd party tech companies and personal data.
