My life flashed before my eyes today on a train that was divided at Haywards Heath. While the detachment took place the OBS was stood on the platform but had left the doors he was stood near open, meaning I could have fallen out of the doors (!) while it was shunted. Seemed a bit odd ?
Southern generally are fine, like other said. I have had 1 delay repay in the last 3 months. Other delays have been minimal or known before I travel.
Strikes are ineffective and a pretty much full service runs.
Look forward to seeing how the ballot went with the hefty pay rise guarantee. Not...
Genuine question but what about other modes of transport? I've seen people stuck in doors / fall out of London buses before. Should they have guards too?
They'll do anything to cause massive disruption to innocent commuters. They've obviously been fed up of having to WORK for a change.
Shame as the trains have been pretty decent for the last few weeks
Has anyone noticed delay repays getting very quick? I had one on last Tuesday that I submitted that evening. Saturday morning I had the approved email?
That said I still have not had a response from a few from 21st December - 2nd January
Can't blame Southern but potential carnage on the way. CCTV has failed at Lancing level crossing so nothing can run along West Coastway until they get someone out
The issue is, as we see with Brighton mainline and Coastway, one small incident can blow the whole timetable apart. So when guards are all out of positions nothing runs. I kind of see it from Southerns POV that the service needs to modernise and be more tolerant to problems.
They've been played beautifully by Southern really haven't they. And the conductors lost those bonuses didn't they?
Lost their roles, lost their bonuses and no longer effectual when 'striking' as services run without them largely.
