    My guess is that there may have been some kind of drone or event for the very first sighting - maybe - but after that every sighting was of the police drones sent up to look for the reported ones. That would explain the complete inability to trace these drones as it's difficult to trace...

    It does look like there were "reports" of drone activities, followed by the police sending up their drones and people then seeing those drones and reporting them.

    So no-one knows who did it, or exactly what it was they did. But they've got to be fairly clever to stop when those people were arrested. If it happens again at a different airport, then we can assume it's someone with a grudge (for whatever political/personal reason) against planes. If it...

    The clever thing, if they are flying the drone again, is to only start doing it after dark so it's harder to track. If they are after longer term disruption they could also not do anything for a few days then start again.

    The "attackers" whoever they are now just need to phone in that they think they've seen a drone rather than actually fly it to ground planes.
