But isn't it about expectations again. I think there will be pressure on McGhee next season if we are relegated. If we are not challenging or thereabouts after 10 games I would think he would be anything other than safe. Again, you aren't comparing the same things. We were in the bottom...

:lolol: :lolol: :lolol: I thought you were fishing a few posts back. It will be tricky to bounce back ( if required ) next season but hope springs eternal. If not, then I might be posting you with my tail between my legs asking if I can join your gang !

Which on results and likely relegation is absolutely correct, but that doesn't mean he isn't capable of then taking us forwards again. If he doesn't, then he goes. And that doesn't mean I don't care or not think that relegation is a bad thing, just that it isn't exactly the big surprise of this...

I did think it was funny the first time I read it but it has since become a calling card for those who are not interested in actually debating the football, just personal insults. Sorry if I come over as humourless, I just think that sort of stuff is a cheap shot.

5 wins out of 36 games is the sort of form I would expect of a team likely to be relegated or just escape relegation. Anything better would see us moving towards mid-table and even you didn't expect mid-table mediocrity did you ? Hoped maybe but not expected. I'm not trying to make a case for...

And I think that the squad we had in September had enough about it to possibly stay up, but that it was a big ask and that it wouldn't be sorted until the last knockings of the season. When you look at those two views there isn't much between them really is there ? Which makes me believe that...

You are absolutely right, it is not what you SAID. That's quite a lot for me to read into the words McGhee & likes & agents & tho. Sorry, I'll try to keep up in future.

You just said we need a striker and central midfielder, that's not a shortcoming, that's the basis of a team regardless of the system or manager.

Fairly key positions though aren't they ! Not sure a battler from the lower reaches is going to cut it this league either or everyone would be buying them, shit I'll do a job if they want a battler. So he's crooked as well as crap then is he ?

But you would still acknowledge that the squad is probably 3/4 players light, two of which are in key positions in the spine of the team ?

I would agree with the numbers, but probably add another ( pacier ) central defender as well. That is funny though because on this thread this morning you said: "The SQUAD is GOOD enough. The Manager ISNT. Plain and Simple." Sorry it's a bit petty, but are we short of players or not ?

How many players do you think we are short of a squad capable of competing in this division ?

Yeates, but what have some dodgy loan signings in previous ( successful ! ) seasons got to do with this ( unsuccessful, so far ) season, where you acknowledge that we have good players on loan ? Either he has good 'contacts' or he doesn't. I also think you oversell this contacts idea. Not that I...

No, but you aren't comparing the same thing are you. Trying to succeed on a small budget is easier in Div 4 than it is in Div 2, the risk / reward level is higher. Of the players you listed I would say Zamora & Cullip formed the basis of everything we did under Adams. Finding the equivalent...

Yes, but not proportionally. We play in a significantly higher division don't we ?

The total fees for those players was nearer £250K which when you consider we were in the bottom division is a very large budget in my opinion. This also doesn't consider inflation of transfer fees.
