I've been to Israel a dozen times and, whilst I would agree that many of them tend to be a bit blunt and tending towards rudeness, I wouldn't agree that they are miserable at all, despite the fact that they are partially surrounded by countries who wish to destroy them.

I believe so. If the other Middle Eastern states laid down their weapons thee would be no war. If Israel laid down it's weapons there would be no Israel.
