I loved Like Clockwork so much...easily their best album in my eyes. I have been reticent in listening to the new one - not generally in the mood for the genre recently. So, should I? Is it worth it, and is it a step forward?
Chemistry is the weakest on the album, but not to the extent that I skip it. The others, yeah I like them a lot.
I wasn't expecting to like this album as much as I do...but I do. I love it.
When I heard that Peter Perrett was releasing new material (How the West was Won) I was stunned. It's incredible that he's even alive after the abuse that he has inflicted on his body over 30+ years.

The BBC have been pushing him strongly. One of their 'Ones to watch in 2017'. There was a feature about him in on South East Today late last year, I think.
Just listened to the new XX album, and loved it - which is always a good sign on first listen. I'm glad they've moved on, the second album seemed a bit pointless to me.
