LUH's album is indeed fantastic. I haven't listened to Thee Oh Sees new one yet, which is very remiss of me. You can't have Algiers in your list - their album was from 2015. :p

Blimey, first time I've read this thread for a while and you have named my favourite two albums of the moment (though I'd add Crystal Castles to make it three.) Glass Animals at The Dome, 22nd October. Marvellous.

Has anyone mentioned FEWS yet? I am quite enjoying their debut album 'Means' at the moment, good driving drums and basslines, laid back vocals and some swirly guitars. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HM5AzI580sQ

I agree, with the first bit anyway. Field Day two weeks today. Marvellous.

PJ Harvey's new album came out on Friday, and I have been listening to it quite extensively this weekend. One pundit described it as her 'Let America Shake' album, and you can tell why - it paints a pretty bleak picture of war torn countries, and Washington DC does not escape either. I'm...

Screamadelica. I am older than you. :) However, I still love Primal Scream, and don't feel that they 'died' in 2002. More Light was a great album, and I'm really enjoying this one too. And they still give a hell of a live performance...although this may be more of a struggle if both Kevin...

Well, Primal Scream, Chaosmosis. I didn't know this was coming out, but saw the poster in Resident when buying tickets for Algiers. So I bought it as well. Another direction, nothing like More Light, but I have been enjoying this today. More electronic, more synth driven, almost New Order like...

I read 'England's Dreaming quite a long time ago, and really enjoyed it. More recently, I read Redemption Song, Chris Salewicz's biography of Joe Strummer. Compelling and moving. I loved it.

It will have to wait a few days as I have had Blackstar on rotation today. Bloody Hell, I didn't in my wildest dreams expect to find it quite this entrancing.

So would I. This is my favourite Bowie period. I'd add Space Oddity (1969, but still...) and The Man Who Sold The World.

This has, pretty much, always been my opinion. My first seven albums were all by Bowie - Aladdin Sane was the first album I ever bought. I was 11, and remained a Bowie freak for a decade. As others have said, 'Let's Dance' was the beginning of the end. 'Tonight' was awful, in my opinion, and...
