    That 30 year old will either become a Brightonian or he/she won't. Some move back to Surrey. But people who move here because they like the 'mindset' and 'spirit', and stay, assimilating and contributing - Brightonians.

    I think what HT is saying (correctly, in my view) is that when you have lived in a place long enough that most of your friends live there, you are a member of the community who probably works there, you feel that you belong there, then that is where you are from. You can 'become' a Brightonian...
