The former. He is brilliant at most things, but there will always be three or four sprint specialists who will beat him in sprint stages of Grand Tours.
He needs to be feted in this country. He is a true sporting superstar, and his achievements are absolutely incredible.
I know Sports Personality of the Year is a bit crap, but if he doesn't win something is very wrong.
TvG doesn't move far, and Barguil is coming up like an express train. He doesn't seem to brake in response to a slight deviation from TvG. I've watched this a few times now, and still think Barguill was negligent.
G could have been killed.
I don't know if anyone has ever been disqualified for a move like this, but then again I can't remember seeing anything quite so negligent either.
Sometimes a precedent has not yet been set.
Over reaction? That was craziness personified, and as someone alluded to above, he took that corner like a stock car racer.
Of course he didn't set out to knock anyone off course, but if you ride like that, out of control and with no thought for your fellow competitors' safety, then I believe...
Well I was amazed I expected a bit more of a finish in the group mentality - no one losing time, but not right up there. Almost like a sprinters stage...because that is what it almost was.
In the stage result, you stopped at fourth, missing the unbelieveable list from 6th to tenth: Froome, Nibali, Contador, Valverde and Teejay. Who would have predicted that?
Seeing them go up the Tourmalet, and down it, today, was quite emotional for me - it was in l'etape last year, and I still find it hard to believe that I rode it.
Sorry, personal shit, bigging myself up, but what a beautiful climb. Just brilliant.
