I'm pretty sure I'm due a new Robert Pollard album. I'm pretty sure it will be 8 magnificent songs that make me wonder why anyone else bothers, 5 songs that mere mortals would sell their souls at the crossroads for and 3 songs that are a mess.
Half an hour later I will still be in awe.
Currently...
My mate/boss picked this up on Monday. Between us it's been played at least half a dozen times this week and everytime one of the punters has asked what it is (in a good way). An excellent album.
The 4AD Grateful Dead covers albums is lengthy (about 6 hours). Third magnificent, third great, sixth pretty good, 12th not required. 24th bad, 48th shit, 48th Mumford and Sons.

'Of Course You Are', Robert Pollard continues his absurdly prolific run of superb albums over the last few years and a week after it's released he's just announced that he's reformed Guided By Voices and there's a new album next month. At least 2 more albums are due out this year.
....and I...
...... not forgotten 'round pevenseagull towers. '...... Presents The Free Association' is one of those albums that I play to death every couple of years. Really need to get a copy for the pub where I work.
Only listened to it once and didn't give it my full attention (decorating) but the new David Holmes album sounds pretty good. I shall give a more considered opinion in due course.
The new 'Tindersticks' L.P is absolutely magnificent. A band that I have adored from day one have delivered something phenomenal. Buy the vinyl to get the DVD that goes with it. I'm on my third listen (first 2 on disc, this time the DVD). It's wonderful, wonderful.
