    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

For me the best part of the show has nothing to do with the £250,000 investment, the interviews or who wins or loses. The key bit for me is why the tasks are won and lost each week. That hasn't changed whether the prize is an apprenticeship or an investment. That said, I am an accountant so I...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

Except that Roisin was booted out purely because her business plan was too global, or Katy's was too small scale. They can't say on the one hand someone has to go because of their business plan yet for Bianca it didn't make any difference. Basically the winner of the show purely depends on how...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

No mention of the fact that Bianca's business plan was based on £35 per pair of tights, but she ended up taking that down to £20 in the pitch. Given that Net Profit ratio in that industry c. 7-8% it renders her original business plan worthless. How was this not picked up at interview stage?

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

I think they have to change the format of the show for next time. Basically, Solomon was fired PURELY for not preparing a thorough business plan. This fact would have been known by the producers when selecting the candidates for the show. Similarly, Roisin was discounted purely because her...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

Solomon should have said "You're Tony Hayres, I'm Alan Partridge, a-haa!" No 2nd series for him...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

Yeah, should be interesting viewing, particularly if he goes all "diamond merchant" on Roisin.

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

My wife tells me to shut up and that it's just a TV programme but I totally agree with you. The girl Katy has been solid all series, but then all of a sudden Sugar's grilling her about her business plan as if it was like something she'd got wrong in a task. You can't get away from the feeling...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

If there is one thing I'd change about The Apprentice it would be that every contestant in Week 1 has a business plan that Lord Sugar has read and is interested in. Make it a one page summary. I'm Team Roisin but Katy on ability deserved to make the interview stage. Up until now the show has...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

A great read. Stuart Baggs is still the King and his interview with Claude Littner is one of my all-time favourite bits of TV.

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

Sanjay drove past a random commercial property that just happened to have a skeleton in the window, stopped the car, went in and was quoted £5,000. Regardless of iPads, laptops, Google etc that's clearly NOT the way to source any product.

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

The thing about the task is that it was clear Sugar wanted them to go to trade wholesalers not retailers and haggle over price. What he obviously WOULDN'T want if for a skeleton to be sourced from a Charing Cross Road book retailer. It wasn't even a gamble that went wrong, it was a singular...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

As soon as they bought that paper skeleton they were doomed. The flaw in the show is that Sugar is clearly guided by the end business venture and not the individual. The show loses credibility when Daniel has survived the board room four times and has very little going for him personally. I...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

Say what you like about the Aussie Mark but the way he managed to shifted 60 units of The Relationship Guru for £480 was incredible, AND the way he polished the turd in the presentation meeting was impressive too. He's nailed on for the interview stage but I don't think Sugar will hire him...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

The show would be fairly dull if all of the contestants were inept jokers. It is important that the show has at least 4 or 5 high quality candidates every series, not merely for the integrity of the show but also because it's actually quite entertaining to see brilliance, acumen, creativity and...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

I'm surprised the t-shirt printer didn't try to strike a harder bargain. With just minutes remaining the girl would have done ANYTHING for cash.

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

This series is nailed on to be a corker: 1. 10 girls come up with the team name "Decadence". Les than half of them don't know what the word means, whilst the rest are too thick to realise it will NOT appeal to Lord Sugar, Brady and Hewer. Sure enough, Sugar takes the unprecedented step of...

    [TV] The Apprentice is back!

I'm looking forward to this - always good entertainment, but I'm hoping for higher quality candidates in terms of ability. Eye candy-wise this new series doesn't look like it can compete with the Leah and Luisa Show of a year ago.
