Possibly she was part of Luke's new Jedi academy, and survived the Knights of Ren's cull of the students, hence requiring her to be hidden and her memory wiped.
I think that's the problem. When your source material runs out (and you've watched his 7 minute video) it leaves you with a weak position if people challenge you.

And off you go again - I've looked at THIS film in more depth than any film I've seen in many many years. I've read all reviews I can find, joined in discussions on the unanswered questions it raises, and generally absorbed thoughts and theories about all the characters and the film in general...

Because Anakin had no character, he was a walking plot device, who couldn't act.
Rey has developed more interest and character (IMHO) in this one film than they ever were able to develop (without forcing it down our throats) in the 3 Prequels with Anakin.
It also helps all of the characters...
I see this as being a mystery yet to be resolved, rather than a problem with the movie. The only problem is it does provide ammunition for those who see her as a Mary Sue character. Clearly, she is VERY strong with the force, as her intuitive ability to develop skills has shown. Is she a...
