Doesn’t sound particularly groundbreaking. Sounds more like an enhancement for existing tv technology to improve the backlighting. OLED seems as good, and better in some cases.
I'd say that's a decent price for a 50inch HD TV.

One question this thread has thrown up is 'Would you be better going for a 4K one though?'
Looks like it.
My Lovely 36inch Panasonic TV (SD) could still be used as the picture's ok, but it no longer accepts input from the remote or most of the buttons available visa the flap on the front - the only way to get it to play TV is to ensure the sky box is on and it will auto-pick that...
The 1st one does look interesting - I've read that thread and was toying with getting a 3D one (I know 3D is dead)
That 2nd one, is a bit big for my lounge :)
Some good deals out there in the New Year on 4k TVs.

I'm not planning on buying until the New Year, as 4K prices are dropping quite well at the moment, and once Xmas and the sales are done I'd expect that to continue.
It's a good point.
What I will probably do is wait until the New Year and see how the 4k TV prices are then. I'd guess prices are steadily dropping, so there will be a point at which I could get a good size 4k TV within my budget then.
Yes inches - not CMs. The issued I'd have with buying a 4K telly now, is that other than Youtube and some Netflix, there's no 4k broadcasts available. I know these TVs do upscale normal HD input, but it seem a lot of expense for something I may not use for a couple of years.
Hi,
I tried a search, but my criteria seemingly was poor as I couldn't find another thread to bump.
Basically, my old trust Panasonic CRT telly, which has served me well for years has started to play up - it's no longer responding to any remote controls - I've changed batteries, and even...
