Prime break territory today. This one should be worth watching.
Expect:
A huge fight to get in the break, and some pretty decent riders in there. Probably a big group too, 10+. Sky will not chase them, so...

Yawn! Sprinters stage, nothing much to say about it.
Expect:
Rubbish break with wild card team riders. Sprint finish. Tune in for the last ten minutes, or maybe not even that. Watch the cricket or tennis instead :wink...
Stage 5 Review
Vittel to La Planche de Belles Filles, 160.5km
Result:
1 Fabio Aru (Ita) Astana Pro Team 3:44:06
2 Daniel Martin (Irl) Quick-Step Floors 0:00:16
3 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 0:00:20
4 Richie Porte (Aus) BMC Racing Team
5 Romain Bardet (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale...
Anyone get on the 12-1 for Aru?
That was seriously impressive he has to be considered a real contender now.
BMC did an awful lot of work for 4th place. I suppose their riders are no use on the climbs anyway, so Richie may as well burn all his helpers up on the flat. Doesn't look good for him...

Shit gets real today. Pretty flat for the majority of the stage, then bam, steep relatively short climb.
Expect:
All the big GC teams totally hammering it into the bottom of La Planche de Belles...
Sorry for missing reviews and previews today. My internet was down last night and I was in work first thing today. Think the review part was covered by everyone anyway.
It is not good from Sagan, think we may seem him DQ'd from the race. Full speed or slow motion it looks really bad to me. You cannot take your hands off the bars to block people, that is not a natural reaction.
I did say it was extremely generous
Plus it makes a really boring table if we make it realistic, Froome, Porte, Quintana no one else. Maybe Bardet.

Looks like a classic sprint stage, because that is what it is. Not much to say about this one.
Expect:
The smaller teams to get in a break away, and a real go slow from the peloton.
A sprint finish, just tune in...

Lumpy and bumpy today. I have seen this one described as a mini classic. I'm not quite sure about that, if they ride it hard it will be a tough stage, if they soft pedal all day there is nothing particularly difficult...
Yeah Sagan positioned himself really poorly. He was second wheel with 600m to go. And seemed to get dropped off in to the wind way too early. Then did not launch his sprint immediately, hoping someone would come past and he could get out of the wind then launch his sprint later. With hindsight...
