    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

Have to agree…. The force of touch is relevant because, if the ball significantly deviates then it is ‘clearly’ won, and the follow through becomes less relevant. All frustrating, but parking this discussion, can I just say the ref and linesman had an absolute nightmare in that first half.

    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

Was in the 70s/80s. Trouble is some of us are still living there…. As an aside Milner did a lovely ‘reducer’ on Doku at the Etihad….. Sadly, Doku got even better 😂

    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

Agree, but re VAR just get rid of it.

    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

Nor do I, because MacAllister’s was as well. VAR remains contentious and pointless. Inconsistency remains.

    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

A foul because it was…. Some ball, more man…

    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

Because, rightly or wrongly, it’s the follow through as well these days. If he’d got an even stronger touch, arguably there would have been less follow through.

    [Albion] Was it a penalty?

Spot on. I called pen immediately, however when you slow it down Lamptey’s touch was stronger than I first thought…. Not enough ultimately to warrant it being overturned though.
