I too went to a large number of away games, did you not think the rearguard performances at Newcastle, Wolves and Spurs were excellent from a different perspective.
I still maintain we played well at Liverpool (bad miss by Gross), at Utd, Arsenal, Stains in second half, Leicester, Palace, West...
But you would acknowledge that wasn’t the case before Christmas.
Not saying you’re wrong, none of us will ever know.
Every team has a bad run, it’s just that ours extended over two months.....

Well I don’t mind stating my view [emoji2]
I think Hughton’s style offered us the best chance of survival.
Not writing Potter off, as if he’s clever he’ll adapt, but initially his style may not help our survival IMO.
Great last para., fully agree - you know where I am [emoji2]

Not the goal line, far side of the pitch before play was switched, both Montoya and Locadia stopped because it was out

I think that’s a bit unfair.
I’ve not seen anyone being anti-Potter, we should all want the same thing which is a winning team, though turning your post around, I’m beginning to wonder whether that was the case when Hughton was in charge.
In terms of style, time will tell. We were always...
Think it was Knockaert who switched play, Kayal is just behind him.....
Watched the game on the stream and the opponents were poor.

Rubbish.
You finish where you deserve.
Were we unlucky at West Ham when the ball went out of play, prior to then scoring?
Were we unlucky at Cardiff when they scored an offside winner?
At Burnley when Tarkowski handles on their goal?
At home Vs Leicester when Kayal conceded a last minute penalty...
Nonsense - we were unlucky in a number of games, and it is all if’s and but’s.
You finish where you finish.....
Sorry, to be rude, but I’m really not getting back into this discussion again. [emoji2]

Couldn’t agree more.
Shouldn’t have thrown away leads at West Ham and Fulham.....
Just the Stains, Bournemouth and Cardiff games so poor, even Huddersfield we crept over.....

You’re quoting reactions rather than a style change!
The bus parking at the end worked.....
It was just those dire two months.

I think you missed the style change, which started the rot.
Momentum is so important at this level, and the things that worked were changed. When we went back to them in April, we started picking up points.
Edit - I would also throw in the absence of Gross made such an impact.

It is interesting though, because we did change our formation with the ball, and that is when we lost our way.
The whole working us out thing could be valid as well, as seemingly we had little answer to high pressing teams. Even today when pressed we looked quite sloppy, see their second...
