Isn’t that basically Lucas’ point ? Too many people saying they are right and not listening to other people. Where I disagree with her is that I don’t think one has to be female to listen and compromise.

Because she herself claims that women have the ability to solve the political impasse purely on the basis of their gender. Read her quote in the article and substitute ‘black’, ‘white’, ‘straight’ or ‘gay’. This type of division is the last thing we need.

I love the bit about reaching out to people with whom they disagree and co-operating to find solutions. Her proposal is to do the exact opposite. Blairite spin at its finest.
