We're playing with a Championship (at best) shot stopper, because admittedly he is a quality ball player.

May as well stick Gross in goal then. No, we have a perfectly good young keeper in Bart. Good shot stopper - good with the ball at his feet - and he's only going to get better. Suspect RDZ will agree with me here, and he will be starting every game going forward.

He's a considerably better shot stopper than Steele... he always has been. That's blatantly obvious, right? I am confident that we would have conceded fewer than 6 if he, or indeed any other, first team Premier League keeper was playing for us today.

Okay, Steele conceded one more than that... but still, that's not the point. We see it all the time with Steele, conceding goals that a better keeper would have saved. This is not an isolated game. It's just he's not a very good shot stopper at this level. Don't mean to be harsh on him...

That's the point isn't it. There's no way Steele could have saved any of those today. However if we had a top quality keeper in goal, we wouldn't have conceeded six today, that's for sure. He's a Championship level shot stopper at best. Quality Premier League keepers make outrageous saves all...

I think the one positive from today is that Steele will be dropped for the rest of the season. Think we can all agree - great cup keeper, squad player, back up keeper - but light years from being good enough for a top 6 Premier League team. Time to go all in with Bart. Give the defence...
