Fans want more people in the stadium and fewer empty seats. It is obviously not "important" like some things are but it is what people want.

The club have never had control over who uses which ticket - they accepted that, and continue to, because it is not a problem.
This is only about revenue. They obviously think it is in their commercial interest to make it more difficult, rather than easier, for people to share/pass on unused...

This thread hasn't actually changed anything for anyone aside a tiny number of people who knew about the Print At Home email option or who, for reasons unclear, used to pay £5 to get a paper ticket from the club for their friend rather than just lend them the ST card...

I think there is a difference between the hardest line legally available to the club (i.e. "season tickets are not transferrable") and their practice in how they treat people occasionally passing on a spare ticket.
