The club have never had control over who uses which ticket - they accepted that, and continue to, because it is not a problem. This is only about revenue. They obviously think it is in their commercial interest to make it more difficult, rather than easier, for people to share/pass on unused...

This thread hasn't actually changed anything for anyone aside a tiny number of people who knew about the Print At Home email option or who, for reasons unclear, used to pay £5 to get a paper ticket from the club for their friend rather than just lend them the ST card...

Oh well... Back to the status quo of meeting outside with family/friends (saving £1.50) or leaving an empty seat if no takers. All very well being Premier League Ready, Paul, but we are still in The Championship and have 2-5,000 seats empty at every game...!!! :)

Quite. It also, crucially, makes purchasing/renewing a ST much more attractive to anyone in two minds because they know they will miss a few games.

I think there is a difference between the hardest line legally available to the club (i.e. "season tickets are not transferrable") and their practice in how they treat people occasionally passing on a spare ticket.
