[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

Yes, agreed. We're right to be excited by Julio and Evan. The way Ferguson took that short lay off from Welbeck in the first half, turned and shot was outstanding -- that kind of surprise and speed at executing it is another way to do it; likewise City's first vs Sheff Utd (ie put a decent cross...

@Weststander, you say great debate. This post has enhanced it

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

Liverpool have just got the quality to break the block. Set pieces is one, the crossing ability of Robertson another, and the range of passing from TAA yet another. They also play at such intensity, at a level that we haven't reached as yet. I'm not blaming the players, RDZ, recruitment, etc...

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

I think we're going to struggle against certain teams who do that for two reasons: 1, we're not so good at breaking through a deep block 2, we don't have the pace in defence to nullify the quality and speed that the likes of West Ham have up front. Pervis has got it, but he plays even higher up...

It really isn't strange. JPvH had one good game (yet Haaland still managed to score), and hasn't been quite so good in the other games that he's started. I'm glad RDZ doesn't base his analysis of our CBs purely on one gam.e

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

I think Milner's position/heatmap this season is easily explainable: we've been on the attack for most of the season, and spent Saturday pretty much camped in the opposition's final third. Last season, teams came at us more, so there was more to and fro to most of the games.

You are very pro-Veltman and anti-Webster. This is a good moment for such a position. Antonio's strength is running, using his body and being a pest. Webster was left on his own to deal with this; Dunk wouldn't be left one-on-one with Antonio because he's too slow. This is a feature of the way...

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

Pep goes for the 3-2 defensive organisation when City have the ball -- three of the back four and 2x DMs; or a DM and the back four, one of whom has moved inside to support the DM (as Stones did last season). We just don't seem to have that solidity when we dominate possession, even when we did...

[Albion] No criticism of RDZ ?

RDZ did say that the two GKs will share the load this season. I don't know if I'm a fan of this. Can certainly see that switching GKs between competitions is valid. I think Bart was drafted in today because he's seen as better in the air than Steele, and set pieces into the box are one of WH's...

Yes. This is what I think is the key reason for the defeat and the poor performance. That said, it happens. I think this is the way to play against us for most apart from the best sides. West Ham executed it very well. Webster didn't get enough cover, and made two bad mistakes for their first...
