Ali J is great as a sub when we're chasing a game, and can put in a wicked cross and has great technique. His qualities will be enhanced if we have a decent striker who is good in the air.

Agreed, and the issue is that Tony has absorbed losses in the past. Last season's was a massive one, but there isn't too much evidence to suggest that it's going to provoke a major change in his strategy.
