The Cuthbert does better food than just about any other restaurant in Brighton, with the possible exceptions of 64 Degrees and Chilli Pickle. I also like The Basketmakers, The Nelson, The Great Eastern, and a few others. Will try that Craft place, as I've gathered that HT knows a thing or two...

Oh, The Large One, well I suppose you did alert us. The Great Eastern is a delight, with lovely bar staff and provides a suitably dingy experience on a Friday night, with those brilliant DJs playing dirty soul and blues.

Not that I frequent them that much any more, can I say The Constant Service, purely on the basis that it used to be so good, and now it isn't.
