This is sound advice. Vacqueyras and Gigondas are neighbouring sites to C9dP and, because they're smaller in size and don't have the reputation, don't command such high prices, although the wines are usually of a comparable quality.
If you use this principle more widely, you'll be doing fine...
Go to Henry Butler's in Hanover or Kemptown, and tell him what you want, and you will be rewarded. If you want a wine that more or less fits that description, try a red Burgundy which just so happens to partner turkey well too. You might even get two bottles for that amount.
