After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, I have ended up with a bunch of play 1s (a pair in the living room, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the conservatory, 1 in my home office and 1 in the main bedroom). I had foolishly bought a Sonos soundbar without measuring where I wanted it to go and had to send it...

Thanks peeps. I should have added that I was planning to get 2 Play 1s in addition to the playbar and/or Play 5. It would seem the best plan is to go for a playbar and 2 x play 1s only at least for now - I can always add a sub or Play 5 at a later date. :thumbsup:

Quick question to those in the know... Would a SONOS play 5 speaker AND a playbar in the same room be overkill, or could I get a decent sound from the playbar and save the £££££ on the play 5? Many thanks in advance and apologies if I'm asking a very obvious question!
