The problem with trying to pin the whole issue on what happened at the end of the season is that this simply doesn't sit comfortably with the FACT that people were being told WEEKS earlier that Poyet's acrimonious departure was inevitable, irrespective of whether we achieved promotion.
An interpretation of those words could be that he was complaining that the Club's ambitions were lower than his - but he was being held back by the actions and decisions of others.
I can't imagine either the Club or the LMA settling for a County Court decision. I would expect both sides to see this as a case with such wide implications that the losers will want to find a route to a higher Court.
The High Court might or might not take a different view from an Employment Tribunal. That will be one of the issues the lawyers will be thinking about.

That is a decision for the Court. In my experience, it's rare for an Employment Tribunal to order the losing side to pay the winner's legal costs. Winning can often be more expensive than losing.
Other Courts may take a different view, of course. No doubt the lawyers will be thinking about...
This looks to me like a case that still has a long way to go. It shouldn't have any impact on the coming season, though. Oscar can get on with his job, David Burke can do his, and the squad can start winning.
