The interesting thing is that, at the Public Inquiry, the Club produced photographs of cars parked on grass verges in Hangleton as evidence that Toads Hole Valley would be unacceptable as a stadium site.
That's the point!
This discussion can't be just about what should or should not be "allowed" in Coldean. The issue is how are fans going to get to and from matches. A good proportion are travelling by car. Ideally, park & ride would serve them well. But if the park & ride sites are a...
Maybe because it's not like that all the time? Are vehicles REALLY parked "all over the grass verges, in front of driveways on double yellow lines and in many cases double parked" in Park Road, Park Close and Rushlake Road? Or are you exaggerating for effect?
The ONLY councillor to have been mentioned by name on this thread is the councillor who chaired the City Council's planning committee that gave planning permission for the stadium - a councillor who marched at the Labour Party conference in support of the stadium, a councillor who has...
Not the fault of Lewes residents ... who were overwhelmingly supportive of the stadium, as we found when we collected petition signatures and stood in the local elections there. The blame lay with the out-of-touch councillors on the District Council - particularly those who represented the...

I think that's the point of people's complaints. The money that the council is making out of parking charges (at the expense of local residents) is hugely resented by the locals. Having more cars parked in Lewes (where parking is perceived as difficult to start with) isn't popular.
Jeane Lepper, the local councillor who is urging the Albion to "take action and nip this problem in the bud" has been a great supporter of the Club throughout the planning process. She even wished me good luck when I stood as a Seagulls Party candidate in the Lewes elections.
