    A pedant writes ... There can be NO SUCH THING as a "balti pie". "Balti" food is named after the pot in which it is cooked. The origin of the word is to do with the Urdu and Hindi word balty - which means "bucket." You can't cook a PIE in a BUCKET.

    The steak contents were the colour and taste of beef. Please don't be confused by inferior pies with artificial colouring or oxo-like flavouring. Keep pies REAL !!

    Having tried the steak and ale pie during the week and pronounced it EXCELLENT, I queued today for a chicken and ham one. I pronounce that SOLD OUT. So I had to fall back on steak and ale. With ale. EXCELLENT again, but not as hot as the first one.
