There would be endless binfests of how big a margin of offside you should allow. Anyone who thinks this would end controversy is not looking at the obvious consequences
You are flogging a dead horse here. Even all the fanatically anti VAR Match of the Day crowd said it wasn't a close decision. Carry on standing up for the right of the big clubs to get favourable decisions from officials if you want.

The campaign for offside goals will be really popular - until it screws your team. And it is the big clubs that always got the 50-50 calls, like they would have today without the technology
No what would have happened is hypocritical pundits would have slaughtered the officials, they want to have it all ways, people seem to have mysteriously forgotten what happened prior to VAR
It wasn’t even a close decision, clearly in front. I couldn’t see if the lino caught it but it would have been a travesty if not. That’s why VAR was introduced to stop major injustices like that
