But is that true if you add in transfer fees?
And what if you then add in income from transfer fees? Does the £8m for Ulloa and the other money for Buckley make that performance so impressive?
And I guess snide is a fact is it? There's no real harm being robustly combative (with a thick skin) and there's no harm being totally wet - but you can't be both at the same time. Pick one online persona and stick to it.
Nah, you're just giving up and saying spending money is a waste of time as another argumentative empty gesture - something your own admittance of a correlation between spending and success showed wasn't true. The only thing we can draw from this is you should stick to the spreadsheets and don't...
The QPR stuff another meaningless distraction. I really hope you don't set your students these pointless exercises
But pleased you concede the principal point. What would be a constructive discussion now is how much we should spend to help buy us into that positive correlation you cite.
I...
Yawn - this is tired stuff. You can spend another 100 pages talking about expensive flops and inexpensive genuises if you like. But you know you'll be dodging the real issue, do we massively increase our chances by spending some money and spending it well
I disagree - he has done it three times - £2mill or near - with CMS, Ulloa and Baldock. He just did it badly with 2 out of the 3.
He needs to do it again AND get his team of Moneyball stats researchers to properly earn their own money this time.
You can always pull these outlier examples out of the bag if you want - but they remain the LEAST LIKELY way of promotion.
Is that the aim of our club, the very long shot road to promotion every year?
It's a recipe for disappointment most years alas
We will be condemned to being midtable fodder if we dont spend.
It's all very well going on about Kayal but it's very unlikley you can build a promotion team on freebies. Of course not impossible, just very unlikely. And the board need to do a better job backing Hughton than that.
