The other popular distraction tactic is inputing ideas to Brand that he's never said or argued for.
But if anyone would care to read his book, he deals with all this flak in a fairly entertaining way, and I say this as someone who has never particularly rated him as a comedian.

There isn't an answer to this, the strategy is just to attempt to tap a well of sour pettiness within us, which of course we all have to some degree, depending how much we've been disappointed in life. Time-wasting stuff of course, meanwhile Brand will carry on fighting the good fight and anyone...
First significant victory for Brand - hats off to him, this was a very interesting campaign that cuts to the heart of inequality and injustice in Britain.

Missing the point - he's not encouraging people not to vote, he's saying there is no one worth voting for that would make any difference to ordinary people's lives.
I don't necessarily agree with that but at the same time he's highlighting well the pathetic choice we are given each election.
I've just finished reading the first chapter of Brand's book and it's brilliant stuff. He's a transformed guy for sure, wouldn't have given him the time of day as little as a couple of years ago.
