I've seen reports that his agent has denied that Guler's dad ever demanded this. If it's a toss up between Mohammed Kudus and Arda Guler, it's a no-brainer.

It's weird, Turkish Footballers generally don't do well outside of Turkey. And yet Mesut Özil, İlkay Gündoğan and Mehmet Scholl, all Germans of Turkish decent went on to be world class. Maybe this guy would be better suited to the Bundesliga?
