I was just thinking today that I'll probably treat myself to a new wetsuit for next year. My £100 Foor Classic has done three years now but I've had to repair a few splits and I suspect it is starting to restrict my swimming speed as well. Unfortunately, but budget would probably only get me...

Did 2:49:11 at the Dambusters at the weekend - pretty pleased with that. The bike course had a few nasty hills which seemed to slow most people down quite a lot! Has anyone done London before? I booked in for the Olympic on the 9th August but wondering what the range of start times tends to...

It is great, isn't it. I hate swimming in a pool now and certainly won't do triathlons with a pool swim. Got Dambusters on Saturday on Rutland water. Forecast not looking good at all so hoping it will change. Haven't done a really wet triathlon, but can't think it is very nice doing the ride...

They're both support shoes as I do over-pronate. I generally run without socks for tris, but not when training. Can't really afford two new pairs so should probably go and try them somewhere. Thanks

Thanks - I've already got a load of High 5 tabs. Am I right in thinking they are electrolyte drinks rather than any sort of energy drink? If so, I guess the plan is to combine with gel packs for energy and hydration? I'm not surprised with your comments about the Lucozade - I'm a sucker for...

What do people do for food and drink during triathlons? I've got three Olympic distance coming up this year and never really thought about it much. I usually just have a drink of some sorts and a couple of gels on the bike but thinking I should probably plan a bit better. Do people tend to...

I'm happy coming out in less that 40 minutes without cramp!

Mine are always about 10% faster open water. Think this is due to streamlining effect of the wetsuit and lack of turns at the ends on lengths.

As I mentioned in the geeks thread, had my first tri of the year today at Thorpe swimming lake. It was cold, and from getting in the lake I couldn't feel my toes until nearly the end of the run. Like others, I struggle with the swimming but manage to pull it up a bit on the bike and run legs...
