I assume that you're talking about the Austrian kid? Whatever it was, the medical 'experts' in the UK were either wrong or concerned about costs. No life support was obvious - or else they couldn't have got him out of the country. That doesn't avoid the point that the recent kids parents...
I have no axe to grind regarding medical experts and their advice. I am completely certain that they give this with absolute impartiality. However, I am under no delusions that this advice is invariably correct. There was a case a few years ago where a young boy was smuggled outside the country...
Where does 'the state' begin and end? Is it with the medical practitioners, the courts, the 'experts'? This has been a very difficult case from the start. On the one side we have the medics saying that they should have a final say into the families options. Then the family and it's 'supporters'...
if you think that £5.5 billion of our money being 'misused' is an acceptable figure then good luck to you and can you please let me know where to apply for some? This cavalier attitude toward the hard-earned money that the EU receives from its members is a symptom of the overall lack of care...
When the independence vote was taken I don't think Cameron had promised the referendum if they won. But UKIP were definitely very strongly supported and the likelihood was that they would be the deciding factor in a hung parliament. That didn't happen but it led to the promised referendum. All...
'Leave' was always a strong option in a referendum - which is why governments don't like giving them unless they can be sure of the result. Cameron's mistake (and why he will ultimately be seen as a weak PM) was to offer something in the belief that the circumstances (an overall Tory majority)...
What a load of nonsense.....'it's the best we have so get over it and agree to us all becoming one federal state or we're all at war again'? Crikey, not even the remainers would have had the nerve to say anything like that.
There is clear evidence of widespread mis-spending of EU funds. This has been estimated at about £5.5billion annually - not much compared to the annual budget of over £100billion but enough to stop the auditors from giving a full, clean bill of health. see these articles...
Could you please ask your German friend what he thinks about the fact that the EU have NEVER passed a financial audit? Can you ask him what he thinks about all the unelected 'officials' with their snouts in the trough and no intention of ever changing anything as it may stop the flow to them...
The EU Trade Commissioner has no more authority to decide how Brexit will happen than Cameron has. If you think that Germany and France will put up with years of 'tit for tat' tariff wars when trying to sell into the UK then you need to think again. Pragmatism will soon take over.
