Some of the riders were ploughed through the jumps today, one was carried off on a stretcher. It's such a great test of how good a rider is.

The horse riding element of the modern pentathlon is one of my favourite events. Randomly allocating horses to riders certainly adds to it :-)

I managed to watch Ennis and Rutherford and their interviews as well. It's incredible how they both were clearly disappointed with the results, shows the mindset of elite athletes.

Yeah. I set my alarm for the early hours so I could watch Mo Farah. It was worth it!!!! Just wanted to add his comment for all the usual suspects. "It's important to make my country proud" ;-) He's talking about Great Britain BTW.

It's unfortunate, because although they'll be down at missing out on a medal, they should be proud that they were in contention for one. I mean it took 100 years for the men to win a solitary medal, and now they are consistently in the mix against the best in the world.
