If I was a betting man I'd say Burnley will be forced into offering the full 10 million at the eleventh hour and like the Ulloa price, we'll be slack jawed when it is announced
Question is have we already got his replacement in Norwood
We did much better selling Ulloa without him rocking the boat though didn't we? Stephens has not publically rocked the boat so we may be forcing Burnley's hand to spend more than they would otherwise. WTF do I know though.
You have no idea whether it affected the price though do you? It was pretty clear he wasn't going to play again and he asked for a transfer (I think?). It seems Stephens hasn't...yet
Simple, the club learnt from the Bridcutt saga. They now say nothing except vague waffle and most of it is coming from CH. The only concrete comments came from Bloom who didn't dismiss selling him and said he couldn't force the player to sign.
I get the rotation completely just don't see why Stephens is being held back. The reasoning sounds really weak. To my mind it definitely has everything to do with his refusal to sign and/or transfer negotiations. I accept I may be wrong but that's how I see it
I have said before that I think CH is being hung out to dry here, we need to hear from Bloom or Barber on this situation, it is bizarre in the extreme to keep finding excuses not to play your most effective midfield, don't you think?
Bizarre that BFG hasn't played for half a season and is being touted as possibly playing on Saturday having played tonight whilst Stephens can't make any team at all because he is not match fit. Oh well this bullshit is nearly over.
Not long left before all this comes to a close. We will know writhin a few days if the club have invested in an attempt at auto promotion. Worst case scenario is Stephens and Dunk out and nobody or inferior player in. Best case scenario we keep everyone and add a striker and CB. The season...
With absolutely no source I am going for - we have told him that he is going nowhere this window and are toughing it out. He quite possibly did refuse to play but if that got out it would make the situation even worse. We may still decide we have no option but to sell him but are hoping he can...
The decisions seem to be about just before/after the window, what you are suggesting has been ongoing for a few games now. I have no idea what CH means but I don't think it's what you are saying.
So as things stand Stephens wants out but we won't sell him and we won't play him until he accepts it or the window closes and he is here until January at least. CH is hoping he'll knuckle down once he accepts we are not selling him this window?
When will the club announce the transfer? Soon I hope, we need to move on.
Stephens will be even keener to get out after Burnley's performance against Liverpool.
