Recent history is my friend, I expect us to struggle to find a decent striker and should we find one, play him out of position or sell/release him after one good season whilst perservering with the rubbish ones for years. If I expect this I won't be disappointed will I?
Probably end up signing Leon Best, on loan again, two weeks into next season when we have missed out on all the others because they break our wage structure or have chosen to go to clubs with more ambition.
I am happy to accept that Chaileyjem talks sense and puts his points across well, he is way more sanguine than me in his reactions to the shit that this season has been.
Yeah I have been in a strop most of this season...
Even worse that we had them and then let them go without being able to replace them surely?
Fans AND management without a clue, we probably deserve to be where we are.
Don't really want to point out that two of the four players you mention came from Brighton and the other one had a loan spell ( the fact that I thought he was crap means nothing obviously ).. We seem to be better at losing them than getting them in. Sums up our recent transfer policy...
Interesting. So is the fact that our current manager released Chris Martin when he was at Norwich.
Oh well, I guess I'd better not get my hopes up that we will eventually sign a proven Championship striker come next season, just hope the next one we take a flyer on comes good
Yes, please do. We signed Murray about 6 years ago and managed to **** up with his departure too, which is very galling.. The other examples are exceptions, as you well know. Look at our track record with cheap or loan strikers and then at how many of the clubs that are challenging in the...
I'm with you on this, I don't think there are many Kayals out there and he plays in a position that doesn't have a big premium on good players. We did well there as he was out of favour and had been longish term injured, we could have ended up with a sick note. He is looking an excellent bit of...
I am pretty certain that will involve spending big unless we get really lucky and given our track record with cheap and loan strikers that is pretty unlikely. Worryingly ( for me) CH seems/seemed to think Leon Best may be the answer, which really doesn't inspire confidence in me, as he looks...
Much is being made of who we need to get shot of, but how confident are you that CH will be given a war chest big enough to replace these players with players who will be an improvement?
I am not at all convinced we will be spending any more than we did this season as we have been told this is...
