Apparently it's OK in football, it just shows ambition and honesty. These are good traits and what you have to expect if you are lucky enough to have a manager who is punching below his ability at the club he is employed at.
Agendas only apply if you found Gus' touting and budget moans offensive/disrespectful/self serving it seems. I'm still waiting for the "moan about the budget" links that have been attributed to Oscar btw
Strange, you normally post a link to prove your point. I have had a look and I can see some comments about teams with a better budget having more pressure on them. That is not a moan, please be good enough to point me to one where Oscar is actually having a moan because I don't believe there are...
Of course he'd be off but hopefully we won't have heard him waxing lyrical about them at every opportunity and dashing around the place to be a pundit on every Barcelona game he can squeeze in
I hesitate to carry this on but all the comments I have found from Gus are that he is proud of what he has achieved at Brighton, not proud to be the manager here. There is a big difference imo.
Yes of course he had every reason to be proud of his players, he turned this club around completely...
Is Oscar actually in a better position to win matches at the moment than Gus was when he was first appointed?
League One is an easier starting point imo, as the quality in this division at the moment is pretty good, but Oscar obviously has better players to work with than Gus did.
Yes Gus had...
I lived in Spain for 5 years so I know how pig headed and some would say arrogant Latins can be when they think they are right and are good at something. It's not a great trait but I do understand it.
It's all conjecture though isn't it? Did he stay because he wasn't offered a great job, neither of those you mention come close to what he obviously wanted? There were no better jobs available to him whilst he was here imo and eventually he got impatient and tried to force the issue.
Albion and...
My point is that I prefer a manager who enthuses about being here rather than one who talks about his ambition to better himself at every opportunity. I just hope he can carry on the excellent work Gus did on the pitch.
Your comment that Gus was pushed suggests that we are not going to agree on...
When did Gus say it then? He had over three years to force the words out but he didn't because he wasn't.
If he did, I missed it and will be happy to see the link.
I don't think I EVER heard Gus say that.
How good is Oscar? We don't know but the man has so much more class than our last manager.
I am 100% behind him and it's refreshing to have him as manager. I am confident this will turn out well for all of us.
