Either it is all about graphics or it isn't. Bottom line is that only a single Xbone title that can in anyway be described as graphically advanced is able to push 1080p. Most are sat at 720p. That's shit. These boxs are meant to last 7-8 years and already they are poor.

1080p vs 720p is very noticeable to anyone who wants to notice.

I do all of that on my laptop personally.

PS4 is the more powerful gaming system and it's cheaper to boot.

Sony looks to me to be going after the 'core gamer' audience harder with the PS4, whereas Microsoft seem to keen to chase a lot of people who perhaps don't have a gaming console yet or encourage people to unify their existing entertainment systems with an Xbox. Might work in the the states but...
