2010: the year of the iPad / iSlate / Apple tablet (Apple haters move on please...)

Apart from Apple Fanboys it really hasnt got one that I can find, as a reader it' easily the worst on the market, without flash it'll soon be outclasses by anything running android in the internet tablet sector and it's obviously not a media player, most people would be much better off with a...

Engadget says: It's not light. It feels pretty weighty in your hand. The screen is stunning, and it's 1024 x 768. Feels just like a huge iPhone in your hands. The speed of the CPU is something to be marveled at. It is blazingly fast from what we can tell. Webpages loaded up super fast, and...

Can we clarify though? Is this running OSX like on all their macs? So i can browse files, folders, multitask e.t.c. or is it the iphone OS blown upto a bigger screen? Theres a fairly significant difference there if you ask me.

I'm really not being anti apple like usual here (price aside) I just really cant see a use for it which a netbook doesn't provide

Well yes of the tablet market, its never going to stand up next to any netbook, my Dell Netbook with Ubuntu looks much more valuable frankly, i can do so much more with it. (And it is VERY cheap)

Oh is it? Just looked like a very high resolution iphone OS to me, if it is REAL OSX e.g. the same as on the mac then suddenly i can see it concieveably working, but from what i can tell its a locked OS with the only way to get things on it is to download them off the app store

god it is cheap though, i would pick one up but i would need an extended period of time with it first to decide if it is actually WORTH getting as i just cant see when i would use it over my traditional (faster) netbook.

I would rather have a netbook, has a physical keyboard for starters, this has nothing what so ever to do with apple, but this devices measly benefits are far outweighed by its negatives (have to hold it constantly, not a real OS, slow, not a real OS, not a real OS, not a real OS e.t.c.)

no surprises there, frankly im a little dissapointed, seems rather underpowered and dont like the fact it runs on an iphone OS unless im missing something obvious, would much rather have a windows 7 tablet as it stands right now, i want a small pc, not a very big ipod

I like the way youve chosen one brand there to comapre it to, Sony are also well known for charging an unwarranted premium, but atleast their PCs use an operating system worth the disk its printed on. Their walkmans have maintained a sound quality far superior to that of an ipod so actually do...

iMac - Apple Store (U.K.) Cheapest iMac there is £400 at the very least more expensive than a PC with similar or even better hardware inside it. iPod nano/Touch - the idea of charging £100+ for something with 8gb storage is ludicrous, and notice the price increase on the touch when you move to...

considering they try to sell the iphone for that i struggle to believe it. Plus if it isnt running OSX i really cant see the appeal in it.

Indeed, considering the ludicrous premium on iphones i can see this thing easily topping £1000. Can you even run bootcamp? Is it going to run OSX? And since when have tablets acted as phones as that mock up suggests?
