Should the South Stand be our Kop?

WSL. Not sure why that is relevant though as I have no desire to be in the rowdy bits anymore apart from away games and the odd cup game, had plenty of years doing that at The Goldstone (although me and my crowd do our best to get some singing going amongst the shrinking violets around us). That...

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

    Eh? What an odd comment.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Well I still think it would be an improvement and worth a try, for several reasons already stated. It certainly isn't completely impractical as you suggest.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

My feelings on this are based on our whole time at our new home, not just recent games, albeit things have gotten worse lately.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Please see earlier post, 6 or 7 rows at its deepest, certainly deeper enough to look and sound more impressive when full (sitting in WSL gives me a good view of both ends to compare).

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

My logic is that what we have doesn't work; the South lends itself to being a more natural kop end, being deeper - concentrating our vocal element on the deepest sections right behind the goals in the South rather than being spread along the shallower North would be a vast improvement; the away...

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Between 4 (wings) and 6 or 7 (central) more I believe, according to the Stadium plan.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Some valid observations there. I'm not naïve enough to think it would solve the problems of our demographic and modern football in the UK in general, but still think it would improve the atmosphere if handled properly. It is a big logistical challenge, and would require the buy-in of all our...

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Pretty sure it was Martin Perry and co who floated this with the idea of 'The Loft'.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

The club initially envisaged the Upper West as our main singing section. The experiment hasn't worked so time to go back to the drawing board or accept the status quo.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

More crucially it gives the time for the home fans to naturally disperse, and those trying to hang around for trouble to be forced to disperse if required. But for most fixtures it's not needed.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Let's face it, for most games these days the only real trouble is a bit of mouthy posturing which is easy to police. For the tastier fixtures the best option has always been to keep the away fans behind for a period.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

This is surely the only logical objection, but not an insurmountable one imho.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

I think it would be foolish of them not to. After all, it is in their interest to make our home more intimidating atmosphere-wise.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Absolutely, would need to be planned and advertised accordingly.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

I really feel that something radical like this is needed, time to move on. The current North Stand doesn't even look impressive, let alone sound it. Really feel more of an intimidating atmosphere could be generated from the South if we had it all as a proper kop end.

    Poll added.

Should the South Stand be our Kop?

Always had a feeling that the South Stand would have made a better kop for our home support, those few extra rows do make a difference. The whole 'North' Stand nostalgia thing is pretty pointless, and it's clear that the current set-up doesn't lend itself to generating a great atmosphere. Would...
