Had the Bavaria Wit last night, my favourite so far. Indistinguishable from a standard wheat beer to my buds.

Some of us who have to/choose to give up or significantly reduce their alcohol consumption would still like to drink beer as opposed to sweet sugary drinks or water. That answer your question?

Thanks all, some interesting stuff there. Enoyed a Super Bock dark and a Sagres sem alcools last night, both very good.

Yes, Bavaria is ok. Do it in quite a few pubs and supermarkets now.

Haha, I did wonder. They did think about whipping it out at one stage as the goitre looked iffy. Tests didn't show anything sinister though.

Dodgy; hypothyroidism following Hashimotos after chemo for Hodgkins Lymphoma. Currently on 25mcg of thyroxine daily.

I have. Do you know anything about dodgy thyroids and alcohol? Not much info out there that I've come across, and my GP's and Consultants are usually suitably vague.

I should have a mixed crate of dark, white and wheat no/low alcohol beers from The Alcohol-Free Shop waiting for me when I get home. I'll let you know the results imo taste-wise after a tasting session.

Health reasons; dodgy thyroid, palpitations after a moderate 3 or 4 pints and occassional angina-like chest pains after heavier sessions during the early hours. Also get occassional sleep apneoa.

Thanks. I don't intend to stick to a strict 0.05% so that's not a problem. I notice quite a few breweries are doing low abv beers now, around the 2.5%, especially since the duty regs changed.

Thanks, will check it out. Where did you find that?

    No Alcohol Beer

Just given up the booze for good. Any good no alcohol (0.05% for the pedants) recommendations? Becks Blue I know is ok. Went to Portugal a few years back and they had a great range, dark beers and all. I've heard the no alcohol versions are big in Germany now too. Also, any no alcohol wine...
