I have the Uber app but was recommended ItTaxi which was superb. The only odd thing is that it failed to get me a ride twice…..but we were able to hail a cab on the street within a minute of trying.

I I understand. We jumped in a metered taxi at Termini to take us to a wine bar. Don’t recall it being any more expensive but I was focused on getting to the bar before it shut. Do the official white taxis use price surging then?

I’m a bit confused. I thought you said you got a post-match taxi from the Olympic Stadium? This post suggests you first took the bus from the stadium (to the Termini train station) then took an hour to find a taxi ?

We weighed up various post-match options but was told taxis would be very difficult. How long did it take to get a taxi? Did you flag one down or use an app or call?
